Holdings for Fresh Apples Up and Processing Apples Down from 2007, According to USApple Report
Holdings for fresh apples in the U.S. are up from a year ago while holdings of processing apples are down for the same period, according to a new storage survey released today by the U.S. Apple Association (USApple), the national trade association for the apple industry.

Fresh Apple Sales Surge despite Lower Holdings (January 11, 2008)
There were fewer apples in storage at the start of 2008 than there were at the start of 2007, and the industry is enjoying continued strong demand for fresh apples, according to the most recent survey of apple storage facilities conducted by the U.S. Apple Association (USApple). Total apple holdings in the U.S. as of January 1, 2008, were two percent under levels from a year ago, while fresh apple movement was reported running about three percent above last year's pace and six percent above the five-year average for the period.
